The University of Melbourne has kept its title as the best university in Australia in the latest Times Higher Education Table.
The university, which has over 54,000 students, has risen from 39th to 37th in the global rankings, whilst the University of Sydney moved up eight places from 61st to 53rd.
There are several metrics in which universities are ranked, including teaching, research environment and international outlook. Each category has a maximum grade of 100.
The University of Melbourne scored a 99.8 score in the category of industry, which is defined as a university's ability to help industries with innovation and inventions.
