CHAMBERSBURG - Two state troopers were shot in a gunfight Wednesday evening after responding to a call in southern Franklin County, state police said.

The incident occurred on I-81 southbound at the Exit 3 exit ramp in Antrim Township, police said. That’s three miles from the Maryland state border at Route 11.

During the exchange of gunfire, police said “one of the suspects” was also shot.

The troopers were transported to hospitals, but there was no further information provided on their condition or that of the suspect.

The scene remains active and police urged the public to avoid the area of the shooting.

The shooting closed sections of I-81 from Antrim Township to the Maryland Line sometime before 6:50 p.m.
