The University of Michigan’s Central Student Government met in the Wolverine Room of the Michigan Union Tuesday evening to discuss adding more health and counseling resources on North Campus and the University’s current bereavement leave policy.

The meeting began with unanimous confirmation of Engineering senior Alaa Assi and Medical School student Arden Parrish as CSG representatives.

During community concerns, LSA junior Jayden Engelhardt reflected on Tuesday being the 2-year anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel, saying the effects of the attacks are still felt today. The Oct. 7 attack killed more than 1,200 people and resulted in about 250 more being taken hostage, spurring an Israeli military campaign in Gaza that has killed more than 67,000 people .
