PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - President Donald Trump on Wednesday hosted a White House roundtable focused on what he described as “Antifa,” a term meaning “anti-fascist.”
During the discussion, Trump and several right-wing media figures characterized Antifa as an organized terrorist group and made several allegations against local leadership that are contrary to facts on the ground.
The meeting came as the Trump administration continues efforts to deploy federal troops to Democratic-led cities, including Portland. Trump described scenes in the city that he said showed widespread unrest.
“You look at Portland and you see fires all over the place,” Trump said. “You see fights, I mean, just violence. It’s so crazy. And then you talk to the governor, and she acts like everything is totally normal.
