An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 struck Turkey on Thursday, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles), GFZ said.

The monitoring agency had initially pegged the quake at a magnitude of 5.33, but downgraded it within minutes, while retaining the depth.
