Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola was cruising through two innings in a must win Game 3 of the National League Division Series Oct. 8 in Los Angeles.

And then, Philadelphia manager Rob Thomson pulled him for left-hander Ranger Suarez.

Nola looked strong while facing eight Los Angeles Dodgers hitters over two innings, striking out three and give up only one hit. But he was pulled.

Thomson said during an in-game interview on TBS that he told Nola he did a great job and the plan was for him to make it through the Dodgers' lineup once.

The strategy didn't pay off immediately as Suarez's first pitch was hit by Los Angeles second baseman Tommy Edman for a 393-foor homer for a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third.
