GRAND FORKS — Grand Forks Central football is 6-0 for the first time since 2004.

If the No. 3 Knights win this Friday at Cushman Field, it’ll be the program’s first 7-0 start since 1996.

Standing in the way of Central’s next milestone is another undefeated Division AA opponent: No. 2 Kindred.

The Knights and the Vikings sit alone atop the Division AA East. The winner will claim sole possession of first.

“I know (our players) are fortunate to be undefeated, and that’s a good feeling,” Central head coach Jake Schauer said. “At the same time, when you step on the field on Friday, both teams’ records don’t really matter. Anything can happen on any Friday.”
