DETROIT -- The Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees on Wednesday to advance to the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2016.

Their opponent will be either the Seattle Mariners or the Detroit Tigers.

The Tigers defeated the Mariners 9-3 on Wednesday to even the best-of-five AL Division Series at two games apiece. The series now shifts back to Seattle for the decisive Game 5 on Friday.

First pitch is set for 8:08 p.m. ET on FOX -- three and a half hours later than originally scheduled. The Tigers-Mariners matchup will now occupy the primetime slot that would have belonged to Yankees-Blue Jays.

The winner will face Toronto in Game 1 of the best-of-seven ALCS on Sunday at Rogers Centre.
