COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Daniel Patrick Grove, 55, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on October 2 for trafficking methamphetamine in addition to 14 counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, the charges were filed following an incident on October 15 when Grove reportedly stole a trail camera. Unaware it was still transmitting location data, he brought it to his home in Coeur d’Alene.

The trail camera captured images of a tattooed male holding a firearm inside the home. Using these images and the shared location data, law enforcement identified the suspect as Grove, whose firearm rights had been suspended due to prior felony convictions.
