Cairo/Washington: Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement on the “first phase” of a plan to stop the fighting in the Gaza Strip and release hostages and prisoners after two years of bloody conflict, US President Donald Trump has announced – the biggest breakthrough in months.
“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, after earlier speaking to influencers at the White House.
“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace.”
Hamas plans to release all 20 living hostages this weekend or on Monday, people familiar with the matter told the Associate
