METAIRIE, La. (Louisiana First) — New Orleans Saints defensive end Chase Young officially returned to practice Wednesday after missing the first five games of the year with a calf injury. Young was limited.

Saints head coach Kellen Moore said there’s optimism with him playing Sunday and called Wednesday a good step.

If Young returns Sunday, he’ll be rejoining a unit with the NFC Defensive Player of the Week, Kool-Aid McKinstry. McKistry hauled in his first two career interceptions Sunday against the New York Giants while also having three passes defended and four total tackles to take home his first conference honors.

Sunday was arguably the 2024 second-round pick’s best performance and will only aid in his development.
