QUEEN CREEK, AZ (AZFamily) — Officers were forced to shoot and kill an armed man in Queen Creek on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

According to Police Chief Randy Brice, it all started when police received a call about a suicidal man in the area of 220th Street and Rosa Road , which is near Signal Butte Road, just before 2 p.m.

When officers arrived, he wasn’t there but police eventually found him in the area of 204th Street, which is west of Ellsworth Road, and Chandler Heights Road .

Brice said when officers tried to talk to the man, something happened and officers shot the armed man. He died at the scene.

Brice didn’t say what he was armed with. No officers were hurt.
