LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas State Crime Lab is currently in a building that is about four decades old.

The facility wasn't originally meant to be a crime lab, which left those who work in the building cramped and running out of space.

Now, dirt is being moved to a new location where a new crime lab facility is being built, and is expected to be finished in the summer of 2027.

It’s been a long process, but the new space is expected to give more room and capabilities to Arkansas law enforcement.
