WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - An animal cruelty investigation is underway in Wilson County after a dog was found shot twice last month, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office reports that the Wilson County Animal Control responded to reports of an injured dog on Oak Grove Road on Sept. 18.
When WCAC officers arrived, they found the dog suffering from a severely injured front right leg. The dog was also wearing a blue collar.

Officers took the dog to a local veterinarian, where X-rays showed bullet fragments inside the dog’s leg.
