Manchester United icon Brian McClair got on David Beckham 's bad side after insulting his future wife, Victoria . Though in the former Scotland international's defence, he didn't know the pair were an item at the time.

McClair, 61, spent 11 years at Old Trafford having joined from Celtic in 1987. And it was towards the end of his playing career with the United that Beckham, who emerged from the club's academy as part of the Class of '92, started his relationship with the Spice Girl.

But McClair was still in the dark regarding their union when he made an unfortunate comment on Victoria's appearance. And the former Scotland attacker didn't exactly keep his gag private after posting it in a magazine column.
