CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - Both soccer teams for West Texas A&M were in action on Wednesday night.

The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs women’s soccer team was defeated 2-0 by the Midwestern State Mustangs in a Lone Star Conference match.

The Lady Buffs had difficulty finding their offensive rhythm throughout the game.

Midwestern State opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a goal from Alinessa Salinas. In the second half, Midwestern State extended their lead in the 76th minute with a goal by Lillia Besedin.

Lady Buffs goalkeeper Franciezca Blancaflor made several key saves to keep the score close, recording five saves.

Despite continued offensive efforts, West Texas A&M was unable to score.

The Lady Buffs will return home to play against UT Tyler on Saturday.
