The state government has invited the private sector to pitch ideas for the transformation of the Gabba entertainment precinct ahead of the stadium’s demolition, including the highly anticipated 17,000-seat arena.
Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie launched an expression of interest campaign on Thursday morning to develop the precinct, which includes mixed-use housing.
He said the Gabba Arena would be the centrepiece of the transformation, to boost Brisbane’s ability to host major events and concerts.
