TOLLESON, AZ (AZFamily) — Tolleson Union High School District superintendent Jeremy Calles called a news conference Wednesday to address the long list of allegations of misconduct under his leadership, including improper spending and risking student safety.

“As I’ve always said, I have nothing to hide,” Calles said.

This comes as lawmakers look into claims of wrongdoing at the West Valley district, including financial and student safety issues.

On Tuesday, former Tolleson principal Felipe Mandurraga testified in front of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee that a male teacher was allowed to resign with full benefits after he sent a female student a shirtless photo, all under Calles’ watch. Calles denied seeing the photo.
