A South West punter was in such disbelief at his Lotto luck that he had to get his son to make sure of his win.

The father, aged in his 50s, was in such shock at finding out that he’d won $1 million that he called on his son to check his ticket.

“I was in complete shock after checking the numbers myself, so I needed another set of eyes to make sure they were all there,” he said.

The punter, who bought the ticket at Callows Corner Lottery Centre in Busselton, said that using his wife’s numbers proved the key ingredient.

“I’ve been playing Lotto for more than 30 years but on this occasion I decided to use my wife’s numbers, which turned out to be a great decision,” he said.

“This win is life-changing for our family and it means we will be able to set our children up for the future.”
