A lightning strike damaged the iconic Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar, prompting an inspection by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

The incident occurred yesterday, when lightning struck the temple premises, burning the temple’s flag, damaging CCTV cameras, and destroying several light bulbs. In response, an ASI team arrived at the site to assess the extent of the damage.

Officials removed the burnt flag and installed a new one atop the temple. The inspection focused on structural safety and the condition of electrical installations affected by the strike.
