Port Adelaide superstar Zak Butters has been spotted playing golf with two Essendon players as speculation surrounding his future ramps up.

Butters has one year to run on his contract at the Power and will be a free agent at the end of 2026.

Power list boss Jason Cripps is adamant the vice-captain will not be traded this year, but the 25-year-old’s family ties to Victoria makes his future a constant talking point.

Butters has been in Melbourne this week and was training with Carlton development coach Torin Baker, who was the AFL superstar’s coach as a junior at the Western Jets.

On Thursday, he played a round at the prestigious The National Golf Club on Victoria’s Morning Peninsula, along with manager Peter Lenton and star Bombers Darcy Parish and Sam Durham.
