MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Artists gathered at the State House on Wednesday for the New Hampshire Governor's Arts Awards.

Gov. Kelly Ayotte said the event is a time to celebrate the state's talented artists and the impact they have on New Hampshire.

"These awards have honored the people and organizations that make New Hampshire such a vibrant, inspiring place to live," Ayotte said.

Nominations were collected in the spring, and eight awards were presented this year.

This marked the 45th anniversary of the event, which is held every two years.
