SALT LAKE CITY — As Utah prepares for its Big 12 slate’s Week 7 showdown against Arizona State, the conference-mandated injury report has once again emerged as a subplot worth watching.
The Big 12’s protocol requires teams to submit player-availability reports three days in advance. That means by Wednesday evening, fans and media get a first peek — and sometimes more — into who might suit up.
Kyle Whittingham shared in his Monday press conference that Utah avoided anything significant on the injury front against West Virginia.
“None of those injuries were season-ending,” Whittingham explained. “Going forward, you’ll just check the availability report. But again, fortunately, not season-ending. We’ll see who we have available this week and who we don’t.”
