Celebrations have broken out in the Middle East after two years of fighting, and tens of thousands of lives lost, peace finally looks within grasp in Gaza. Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of a process that will see, in the coming days, hostages released and troops withdrawn. U.S. President Donald Trump described the deal as the first step towards "Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace”. As confirmation of a peace deal in the Middle East became clear, the State's top court was making its own ruling on the fate of a controversial pro-Palestine protest. Judges have blocked Sunday's planned rally at the Opera House from going ahead, insisting it would be "irresponsible" given the "extreme" risk to public safety.
