Suspicious activity: SOM Center Road

A manager of the Village Butcher said Oct. 2 that a man came into the business claiming to be with the Illuminating Company and suggesting that the business had a past due balance.

The suspect claimed that the power would be shut off if no payment were made. He left after providing a letter and statement that the owner felt was suspicious since there was no known past balance.

Officers confirmed the owner’s belief that it was a scam, finding multiple inconsistencies in the letter, which noted that a $1,100 balance was due.

Detectives are trying to identify the suspect.

Disturbance: Glenview Road

A woman reported Oct. 6 that she arrived at a home in the 6700-block to retrieve some property but was locked out by her mother-in-law.
