From stage 4 cancer to the Jenks High School football team, a teenager shares his fight against childhood cancer.
In today's Health Matters with TSET, Amy Slanchik has his story.
"Football -- I mean, this is my brotherhood,” Jake Flowers said. “I grew up playing this sport. This is what I love. This is what I do.”
Jake is a Jenks High School senior who plays number 15 for football and lacrosse.
"I feel like I'm on top of my game,” Jake said. “I feel like I'm thriving."
At 17 years old, he’s deciding now is the time to share his story and is starting to share it with some of his peers.
"'Wait, Jake, you had cancer?' And I'm like, 'Yeah.' And they're like, 'Oh man, are you OK?' And I'll be like, 'I'm the same dude I was 15 minutes ago,' ya know. Going out of my shell and growing as a p
