1BROOKLYN, NY – A Bronx man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal assault and robbery of a 64-year-old Brooklyn man inside the Jay Street subway station earlier this week, according to the New York City Police Department .

Investigators say David Mazariegos , 25, of 711 Magenta Street in the Bronx, was taken into custody Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. following an intensive investigation by detectives from the 84th Precinct and Transit District 30.

Mazariegos has been charged with two counts of murder , robbery , and grand larceny in connection with the killing of Nicola Tanzi , 64, of Bay Ridge Parkway in Brooklyn.
