Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Just fine, says Jane Krakowski, Broadway's newest Mary Todd Lincoln in the high-camp comedy "Oh, Mary!"

The outrageousness of Cole Escola's take on the private lives of first lady Mary Todd Lincoln and her long-suffering hubby Abe is its most pronounced quality. So people might not notice what a well-constructed theater piece it actually is, Krakowski said.

"I've seen it five times, I was a real fangirl of the show and now that I'm working on it, I realize how strong the writing is," said Krakowski, who begins her eight-week limited engagement Oct. 14.

"I think this is a brilliantly-written comedy," she said. "It's solid." Looking for a free mini puzzle? Play the USA TODAY Quick Cross now.
