A man was rushed to hospital following a 'knife attack' in north Manchester.

Emergency services were called out to Polygon Road, in Crumpsall , at around 12.55pm on Wednesday afternoon (October 8).

Greater Manchester Police says a man in his 20s was injured following a 'serious assault '.

The Manchester Evening News understands the man suffered a slash wound, caused by a knife.

His injuries have been described as serious, but not life-threatening.

The incident is understood to have taken place close to the King David High School.

A witness told the M.E.N.: "There was a stabbing attack in Crumpsall this afternoon, on a path that runs at the side of King David School between Bury Old Road and Polygon
