Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and former deputy chief minister of Bihar, has made a significant promise ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. He announced that if his party, part of the INDIA bloc, comes to power, it will ensure that at least one member from every household in Bihar receives a government job.
During a press conference in Patna, Yadav stated, "The NDA could not provide jobs to the youth in 20 years. We will bring an Act within 20 days of coming to power, and in 20 months, not a single house will be without a government job." He emphasized his commitment to tackling unemployment and ensuring economic justice for the people of Bihar.
Yadav recalled his previous promise of government jobs during the last assembly elections, noting that five lakh jobs were created during his brief time in office. He expressed confidence that more could have been achieved with a full five-year term.
As the elections approach, Yadav has positioned himself as a leading candidate for the chief ministerial role, criticizing the current Nitish Kumar government for adopting measures similar to his earlier proposals. He highlighted recent initiatives by the government, such as free power units and waived examination fees, as attempts to win voter support.
While Yadav focused on his job promise, he refrained from discussing other political matters, stating, "Today's press conference had been called to make just this one big announcement." He indicated that further discussions on political strategies and seat-sharing would occur later, once the election schedule is officially announced.
