This afternoon the public is invited to the Grand Opening of the Peter Sawatzky Sculpture Garden at the Brandon Riverbank.
The Riverbank received four bronze pieces this past summer; including the magnificent Caribou Gateway Plaza, the curious bear and the most recent piece of two herons titled 'Wetland Lovebirds'. Currently the Riverbank grounds feature six of Sawatzky's pieces. A total of 16 bronze sculptures is to complete the collection over the next few years.
Known for his dynamic portrayals of Canadian wildlife, Sawatzky’s sculptures bring to life the spirit, strength, and beauty of the natural world, and many of his pieces feature wildlife he sees in his own back yard in Glenboro.
