The hot stove is officially on. Sort of. On Tuesday, the Atlanta Braves signed former Boston Red Sox catcher Sandy Leon to a minor league deal, according to the transaction wire .

Leon has been with the Braves for the last two seasons, primarily in Triple-A Gwinnett. In 2025, he appeared in five games for Atlanta. He recorded one hit in twelve at-bats — a three-run home run against former Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel .

The Braves aren’t expecting much, if any, major league production. He’s veteran depth who can work with young pitchers in Triple-A and be called upon in a pinch if needed.
