Rail services across Derbyshire and the East Midlands have resumed after a person was hit by a train on Thursday morning (October 9). East Midlands Railway (EMR) confirmed that a person had been hit by a train at 8.33am on Thursday between Uttoxeter and Derby.
A spokesperson for the railway operator said: "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between Uttoxeter and Derby and is disrupting our trains on the Newark Castle/Derby/Crewe route."
EMR issued another statement at around 10.45am on Thursday saying the line has since reopened, but added that services may be delayed or altered while it works to recover the advertised title.
