The South Carolina ACLU is filing a lawsuit against the State Superintendent and the Greenville County School District.

Jace Woodrum with the SC ACLU says the lawsuit challenges the constitutionality of regulation 43-170, which bans all materials in kindergarten through 12th-grade public schools if they contain descriptions or depictions of "sexual conduct."
"The book-banning regulation is incredibly vague, and it doesn't allow for the fact that there are many books that include some kind of sexual content, but also have incredible educational value and literary merit," Woodrum says.
That lawsuit cites two Greenville County School District students as complainants.
