Police in Ntchisi have confirmed the death of a four-month-old baby, Alexander Chimpeni, from Chiwembu Village, who died after his mother accidentally fell on him during a fight.

According to District Police Spokesperson Salomy Zgambo, the mother had been carrying the baby on her back when an argument with a friend escalated into a physical altercation.

During the fight, the mother lost her balance and fell, causing the baby to sustain serious injuries.

The child was rushed to Ntchisi District Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his death.

Hospital results revealed that the baby died from severe head injuries.
