Fall weather has finally arrived in the Borderland, as evident in those cool, crisp mornings and shorter, darker days.
While temperatures are expected to remain near normal ( the average temperature for early October in El Paso is about 70 degrees), the weather is expected to cool by next week, according to the National Weather Service. The fall-like temperatures will also bring breezy conditions, strong winds and thunderstorms in some areas.
El Paso and parts of southern New Mexico will experience breezy conditions with winds up to 35 miles per hour until Saturday, Oct. 11, in both the afternoon and overnight hours. Showers and thunderstorms could also hit this weekend and into next week as tropical moisture moves through the area, the weather service said.
