BRISTOL, Va. – A new exhibit showcasing ornately designed, handmade cowboy boots by award-winning master bootmaker Lisa Sorrell opens next week at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum.
Branded “Boot Scootin’ History: The Craft and Stories of Cowboy Boots,” the exhibit opens Oct. 14 in the BCMM special exhibits gallery.
It will include about 35 pair of unique boots – including some owned by country star Marty Stuart – plus images and information about the history and process of boot making.
Sorrell has been designing and creating custom cowboy boots for over 30 years. She owns Sorrell Custom Boots in Guthrie, Okla.
“We met her a few years ago at the International Country Music Conference, became friends with her and she’s done a program here with us,” said museum Director
