BAKER CITY, Ore. (KPTV) - An investigation is underway after a driver found a pipe bomb inside their car earlier this week, according to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office says they received a call from a driver in Baker City who said they noticed something roll out from under their seat while they were driving. Upon further inspection, the caller believed it was a pipe bomb.
A sergeant who responded to the scene confirmed the object was a bomb. The Oregon State Police Explosives Unit responded to the scene and removed the bomb from the car.
Thankfully, no one was hurt.
The sheriff’s office says an investigation into how the bomb ended up in the car is ongoing. No other details have been released.
