MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WV News) — The Ronald McDonald House Morgantown marked a major milestone Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating both its grand reopening and 35 years of service to families traveling to the area for pediatric medical care.
The newly renovated and expanded house, located near WVU Medicine Children’s, now accommodates 27 families per night — an increase of 11 rooms — and can provide more than 4,000 nights of stay each year.
“Over 4,000 stays annually. You think about the amount of families and the impact that has on each individual — that’s incredible,” said George Schuller Jr., chief operating officer of Core Natural Resources, the organization responsible for the renovations. “We are truly committed, in our partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities.
