The Chief Minister of West Bengal (WB), Mamata Banerjee on Thursday alleged that the Election Commission (EC) is threatening WB's state government officials. Additionally, Banerjee has also warned that her government would not tolerate such threats of the EC.

Banerjee also mentioned that the "BJP is playing with fire in the name of Special Intensive Revision (SIR). As attempts are being made for political interference in the name of keeping the election process fair. Any attempt to tamper with the voter list would be a betrayal of democracy".

During a press conference at the West Bengal Secretariat, Mamata said, "How can Election Commission officials visit the state and summon government officials when the election dates have not even been announced?"
