BATTLE CREEK - Championship week.

There will be no trophies officially handed out this week, but for all intents and purposes, this is championship week in the two major conferences in the Battle Creek area.

Defending Interstate 8 Conference champ Harper Creek can start making room for a second straight league championship trophy if the Beavers can get by Hastings this week in a battle of first-place teams. Harper Creek will still have two league games left to play, but will be a game up on the rest of the field with winnable games on the schedule.
