Keir Starmer has failed to give Tony Blair a ringing endorsement for his possible role overseeing governance in post-war Gaza .

The Prime Minister hailed the first stage of the peace plan agreed between Israel and Hamas as a “real breakthrough” but he also declined to explicitly back Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in brokering the deal.
