Johnston football's Bryce Beachem finds ways to contribute after injury

Bryce Beachem approached this year’s season opener with a lot of hope.

The Johnston football junior planned to step up his game – on offense and defense – and he showed a lot of potential in his start against Waukee.

On third and long from the Dragons’ 16-yard line, Trevin Helming unleashed a deep pass and Beachem – on his first catch of the season – corralled it around the 50-yard line before taking it the rest of the way to the end zone.
