An Oct. 9 morning blaze at Caribou Village shopping center in Nederland prompted evacuations and closures in Boulder County.

The fire was “knocked down” as of a 5:51 a.m., according to a post on X from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, but reports say several businesses were damaged or destroyed.

“We are absolutely devastated by the fire that took out about 20 businesses today, including ours,” Brightwood Music, a store in the center, posted to Facebook . “We appreciate everyone reaching out to us. We just can’t respond right now as we process what is happening. Thank you for your support.”
