ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - A report published by a Puerto Rican newspaper quotes Yadier Molina as being in talks with the St. Louis Cardinals.

El Vocero reported that the former catcher could join the Cardinals coaching staff next season.

Molina is quoted by the outlet as stating, “Right now, we are in contact with St. Louis to be a Cardinals coach, to help [Oli] Mármol. He continues as manager, but I would be by his side. Nothing is concrete yet, but we are working on it.”

Molina was in the Cardinals dugout as a guest coach several times during the past season.

For the 2026 World Baseball Classic, Molina was named as the manager of the Puerto Rico team.
