GUADALUPE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man has been arrested on accusations of first-degree murder nearly one month after a body was found behind an East Valley bus stop, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said 36-year-old Roman Rubalcava was arrested on Tuesday with the help of the sheriff’s office detective and tactical units.

According to investigators, a patrol deputy found a man dead behind a bus stop on Avenida del Yaqui, just north of Calle Guadalupe, in the town of Guadalupe. The victim, later identified as Amalio Castillo-Villareal, 65, had been stabbed, deputies said.

Detectives reportedly had little evidence and leads to follow, but ultimately linked Rubalcava as the suspect.
