PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Ben Skowronek is battling an illness early to start the team’s week against the Cleveland Browns . Skowronek was limited on Wednesday with the illness, which is a good sign the wide receiver is on the mend.

This is unlikely to affect his availability this week, but Skowronek being limited will give more chances to others in team periods such as Roman Wilson and even players on the practice squad.

A key blocker and playmaker for the team this season, Skowronek has carved out a role as a valuable special teamer and dirty worker for the Steelers offense.

They re-signed him to a two-year contract this offseason after a similar output and impact a season ago after he was acquired after cut downs.
