WAUSAU – Newman Catholic’s Camille Sobolewski just keeps getting after it.

So much so that when the volleyball standout reached 1,000 kills in an early season tournament in Appleton, she only learned about it after finding out from a teammate. A moment that’s on-brand for the tight-knit bond the Newman group shares.

“It’s just been an amazing ride,” said Sobolewski with a smile. “Every year, the girls, we all bond so amazingly, and we all just really love each other, and I think that's what helps drive us every day in the gym when practices get hard.

“Just the culture we created here at Newman, it's just an amazing thing to be a part of.”

Milestones are shiny, but Sobolewski says the real treat is the connection her team shares – and their bond begins long before the first serve.
