KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) — A Leavenworth, Kansas, man who shot two people in 2024 while wearing a gorilla mask was found guilty on Wednesday of attempted murder by a county jury.

According to the Leavenworth County attorney, 32-year-old Emanuel J. Dickerson was convicted of one count of attempted first-degree murder, one count of aggravated battery, one count of criminal discharge of a firearm, one count of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and one count of interference with a law enforcement officer after a three-day jury trial.

Court documents say on Oct. 26, Dickerson fired a gun into an occupied parked car, striking two people outside of a Leavenworth apartment complex near Limit Street and Martin Luther King Drive. He was reportedly wearing a gorilla mask during the shoo
