New Delhi: India stunned Korea in the home conditions to secure its first-ever mixed team medal in the BWF World Junior Championship at the National Centre of Excellence on October 9, Thursday.

It was a hell of a match between both nations, as the game lasted for almost three hours. India lost the opening set 44-45 but turned the tables in the remaining two sets and comfortably defeated Korea 44-45, 45-30, and 45-33. With the historic victory, India set up the semi-final clash against the Asia U19 mixed team champions, Indonesia.

By reaching the semi-final for the first time, India secured their first-ever mixed team medal in the World Junior Championships. India was dependent heavily on singles players, and the first set went accordingly as the duo of Bhargav Ram Arigela and Viswa Tej
